(1) 4,5-dimethylthiophene and tetramethyl ammonium carbonate are reacted as raw materials to obtain 4,5-dimethylthiophene -2-carboxylic acid ammonium salt.
(2) An ammonium salt of 4,5-dimethylthiophene-2-carboxylic acid is reacted with hydrogen iodide to obtain 3-hydroxy-4, 5-dimethylthiophene-2-carboxylic acid.
(3) Finally, 3-hydroxy-4, 5-dimethylthiophene-2-carboxylic acid is reacted with methanol to obtain methyl 3-hydroxy-4, pyridine.
